Solihull Annual Practitioners' Event 2010
Date: Monday, February 01, 2010
Solihull Forest Schools held their
annual practitioners day event Thursday 28th January
2010
At Norman King Centre Earlswood
Lakes Solihull
Over 45 practitioners from Solihull
enjoyed a fun-filled day. Attendees where given the chance to
take part in three different workshops, ranging from learning new
ideas & techniques for camp fire cooking, storytelling, using
the natural environment to learning new bushcraft skills of how to
light a fire by friction, using a bow drill.
The experienced facilitators ranged from
Fiona Hopkins, who works as a freelance Forest School leader in
Birmingham, Katrice Horsley, who is an inspiring story teller using
the natural environment to express her wonderful story telling, and
Dave Watson from Woodlands and survival crafts, who introduced
everyone to the exciting world of Bushcraft, and showed everyone
how to achieve fire by friction.

Everyone who attended went away with a new
set of skills to enhance their delivery of Forest School sessions
back at their settings. A big thank you goes out to all of the
facilitators and Solihull Forest Schools for putting on such a very
enjoyable day.
